2 ChatGPT Tips To Crush Social Content Optimization
Social Corner Family,
I hope you've had a great week!
Exciting news, I’m launching a new SaaS later this month – the MVP for it at least. It’s called Mezi, an AI customer support chatbot built for small to medium-sized businesses. If you’d like to join the waitlist, you can do so here.
So, in today’s newsletter, I’ll take you through five useful tips for leveraging ChatGPT, or whatever conversational AI tool you use to get the most out of your social media management duties.
The problem is that social media managers or business owners think too broadly when leveraging AI, and thus get lackluster results from its outputs.
That’ll change for you after this newsletter.
1: Caption Writing Like A Pro
Using ChatGPT to write your captions saves a ton of time.
I actively use it to create a pre-approval draft that brands I work with then iterate to ensure accuracy and brand tone.
The wrong way to use ChatGPT is to give it a boring outline of what you want the caption to be. For example, say I own a nutrition company that just made an Instagram post about three spices that can help reduce inflammation.
A boring prompt would be, “write an Instagram caption about three spices that can help reduce inflammation”. This is the result 👇
Now let’s take a look at a caption with the following prompt, “Write me a 3-4 paragraph Instagram caption about three unique spices that can help reduce inflammation within the body. Outline the mechanisms of action by which they work and recommended but safe dosages people can add to their foods or drinks. Additionally, write from a scientifically knowledgeable stance without using complex words that readers of all reading levels can understand. Don’t use hashtags or emojis within the caption, and ensure each point doesn’t repeat itself.”
now let’s take a look at the result 👇
By giving ChatGPT the best prompts, you go from sounding like an amateur to an authority figure in your space. And if there’s one thing we know about social media, it’s that we trust those who know what they’re talking about.
2: Content Ideation
Content ideation is one of the biggest issues brands I work with face. They have no idea where to start or don’t want to make the same old content everyone else makes.
Let’s take a look at how you should and shouldn’t use ChatGPT to help you with content Ideation.
Imagine you’re a personal trainer looking for content ideas.
Here’s an example of a bad prompt with crappy ideas: “Make me a list of 10 content Ideas I can make videos for as a personal trainer”. Here’s the result 👇
Although these ideas are a good start, they’re far too broad and are ideas a million other trainers post about every day.
Now let’s use the following prompt: “I’m a personal trainer that’s looking to create valuable short-form video content for my audience. Create 4 content buckets I can make content around, as well as 3 ideas for each bucket. I want three of the buckets to be mental health, business tips from running an online personal training business, and nutrition. Show this in a table format” - Here’s the result 👇
In just a few seconds with a great prompt, ChatGPT has pumped out six (although I asked for four) content buckets with 3 supporting content ideas within each one.
The best part is that you can break each content idea down even more.
For example, under the “Self-Care Strategies” column on the first row, ChatGPT suggests making self-care tips such as getting enough sleep, staying hydrated, and maintaining social connections. Here are a bunch of ideas that can be broken down from this single idea:
How I went from an insomniac to sleeping like a baby in 4 steps (sleep)
Why I have to have a guys night out each week (social connection)
Why you don’t need 3 gallons of water per day (hydration myth)
What self-care as a man actually looks like (contrarian self-care tip)
In no time, you can pump out 30+ ideas that can fill up your social calendar for months on end.
In fact, I wrote an issue outlining my unlimited social media content ideation hack. It’s free, check it out.
