The Unlimited Social Content Idea Hack
Find out how I came up with 30+ social media content ideas in <15 minutes by creating four distinct brand pillars.
Social Corner Family,
This week I’ll break down a simple technique I’ve used for years to come up with near-limitless content ideas for social media content.
The problem today is that many people starting their brand have no idea where to start, or how to come up with more than just a few ideas to post.
This will change everything for you.
Let’s get into it.
1: Content Pillars
Content Pillars are 3-4 high-level content topics that surround your brand. An example of a content pillar is education – In fact, education is one of, if not the most valuable pillar every brand should focus on. But it’s not the only one.
Let’s use the example of a personal trainer. He needs ideas but has no idea where to start.
First, he outlines his four main content pillars:
a) Educational - to teach people.
b) Nutrition - how to eat to nourish the body.
c) Bodybuilding - sharing his services, client testimonials, etc.
d) Business - sharing how he manages his business
e) Injuries & Rehab - sharing tips on how to recover from injuries.
Now that he’s got his primary pillars set up, let’s create 20 content ideas in minutes.
2: Ideation
Let’s break down four content ideas our trainer can fit into each of his pillars:
Mindfulness:
How keeping calm helps me run my business
Why I meditate each day
My mindfulness routine - a walkthrough
How a busy mind is holding you back from your goals
Nutrition:
What I eat in a day to stay lean.
Reacting to bad Tiktok fitness advice
Responding to questions in his comment section
Skit: How gym noobs lift vs how experienced lift weights.
Bodybuilding:
Bodybuilders that inspired me to be a personal trainer
What “X” bodybuilder ate in a day to stay shredded
The realities of being a bodybuilder - the good vs the bad
This is how “X bodybuilder” developed massive legs
Business:
How I left my 9-5 to start my online coaching program
The stresses of being your own boss
How growing my business has changed my life
Why I left my 9-5 (financial freedom, traveling anytime, work from home).
Injuries & Rehab:
How I exercised post “X injury”
Why most people never fully recover from injuries
Myths vs facts of injury recovery
How stretching develops your “insert scientific name for a muscle”
3: Cross Over Ideas
Now you have 20 pieces of content in minutes, you might be thinking, “bro, how do I come up with more ideas?”
It’s simple, you cross over ideas to create an infinite list of more ideas.
For example, if one of your videos was “Myths about starting a cutting diet”, you can use that same format (myths), and apply it to other content pillars, for example:
Myths about running my own coaching business (business)
Myths about eating clean (nutrition)
Myths about recovering from a torn muscle (injuries)
Myths about meditation (mindfulness).
Notice how one format: Myths, can be applied across any content pillar.
If you want to go deeper, you can. For example, let’s take the “Myths about eating clean” idea and make some sub-myth content ideas:
Myths about the keto diet
Myths about staying consistent with your diet on holidays
Myths about consuming red meat
Myths about eating carbohydrates before bed
Myths about eating late at night
Myths about fat intake
